The Adventure Film Festival

I ended up at the Adventure Film Festival purely by chance, I met some friends for lunch, they had a spare ticket and before you know it I was sat in a brilliant little cinema in Henley Upon Thames.

The event was free, funded by sponsors and consisted of a collection of amateur documentaries covering various epic adventures.

Tonight was Endurance Adventure night and the 4 films were a team of rowers crossing the Atlantic, some bikers riding from South Africa to London, a documentary on Marathon Running and some bloke running from the Marble Arch, to Dover, Swimming the Channel and cycling to Paris.

I like an adventure and partake in light versions of what you can see in the films, but what the series of films really brings home is the human spirit of adventure. No Hollywood film has left me feeling as uplifted and positive as this collection of documentaries, that I watched for free and only ended up at by chance.

Brilliant...
